Where Safety Meets Science and Healing Changes Generations

Hi, I’m Lorin Puebla, MS, ALC, NCC—Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Anna Barksdale, MSCP, LPC-S, and I created The Counseling Haven with one goal: to make healing real, reachable, and rooted in both science and compassion.

This isn’t just a practice. It’s a place where your pain is taken seriously and where change is actually possible.

I started The Counseling Haven because I was tired of seeing therapy that never got to the root. People don’t just want insight, they want relief. They want peace. They want to stop carrying pain they didn’t create, and they definitely don’t want to pass it down.

That’s my mission: to help people heal in a way that ends the cycle.

I don’t just want you to feel better, I want your nervous system to reset, your story to shift, and your legacy to change. I want kids to grow up with regulated, conscious parents. I want emotional wounds to stop becoming generational baggage. I want your healing to make the world safer for the people around you.

That’s not just therapy. That’s legacy repair. That’s healing as harm reduction. That’s emotional prevention work.

To support that, I developed The RESET Method™: a neuroscience-based, trauma-informed process that helps the brain let go of what it’s been holding, safely and without reliving trauma. Using techniques like bilateral stimulation and memory reconsolidation, RESET supports powerful change that feels grounding, empowering, and often fast.

Whether we’re working weekly or in a focused intensive, RESET is the foundation. It’s how I help you move from surviving to actually living.

Healing here is:

  • Intentional — we don’t just talk; we work toward resolution

  • Evidence-based — rooted in what works for the brain and body

  • Tailored — because your path won’t look like anyone else’s

I also specialize in working with:

  • Neurodivergent individuals (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia) and their families

  • Children and teens with big emotions, behavioral struggles, or trauma

  • Parents navigating stress, burnout, or attachment issues

  • Foster and adoptive families

  • OCD, anxiety, depression, and other mood and emotional regulation struggles

When working with children and teens, I use play-informed therapy, sensory and art-based interventions, sandtray, and TBRI to meet them where they are developmentally.

My office is located in the heart of Bay Minette’s courthouse square, a quiet, welcoming space that’s designed to feel peaceful and private.

If you’re ready for therapy that’s both compassionate and effective, I’d love to walk with you through it.
